Police have broadcast an S.O.S. for volunteers to
help chaperone Midnight Live 2000, which
will take place at the Mid-Valley Mall Friday, Dec.
31.

- Officer Melissa Rodriguez said the party
gives local high school students an
alcohol-and-drug-free place to go on New Year's
Eve. Lots of food games, music, and prizes will be
offered.

- Top prizes include a set of wheels donated
by Les Schwab, a top-of-the-line fish tank sans
fish donated by Aqua Pets, plus gift certificates,
CDs and more.

- "School identification will be checked at
the door," Rodriguez said.

- Admission is one dollar or two cans of
food.

- "We'd like to have students come in and join
us. It will be a fun, worry-free environment,"
Rodriguez said.
