BENTON COUNTY SHERIFF Aug. 99
- Car-to-car gunfire
- Drive-by thugs shoot S'side man
- PROSSER (Thursday, 8-5-99)---Daniel Lopez was driving to work on Hwy. 221 at 6 a.m. today when a brown Monte Carlo with three Hispanic males inside moved to pass him.
- As the Monte pulled alongside, two of the thugs reportedly opened fire with pistols. Three slugs hit Lopez' car. One tore through the driver's-side door and struck him in the left arm.
- It would appear not one of the nation's 40,000 gun laws hampered these guys in any way from shooting a law-abiding victim on his way to work.
- Lopez apparently was unarmed and unable to fire back at his attackers.
- Nor do reports indicate Lopez made the Monte's plates.
- Lopez reportedly drove to Columbia Crest Winery where staff called an ambulance. Lopez was transported to Prosser Memorial Hospital.
- Deputies said there are no suspects at this time. Dan: Get a light .44 revolver that fits your hand, hollowpoints, and NRA training. Ignore poop-for-brains liberals.
