Thugs rob, tie up woman at home
YAKIMA (Tuesday 5-12-99)---Robbers broke into the home of a woman in the area of Watkins and Naches Heights Roads just before 5 a.m. today and made off with an undetermined amount of goods, deputies said.

Deputies learned the woman had been confronted by four men after her husband left for work at about 3:45 a.m. Minutes later, she heard foot steps coming up the stairs. She assumed it was her husband, and rose to investigate.

She said she was met as her bedroom door by a very large man with a gun, who was wearing a mask and gloves.

She said the other three men were Hispanic, but they didn't wear masks or gloves. But they wouldn't allow her to put on her glasses, so she couldn't see any of them clearly.

Deputies figured the intruders came in through a kitchen window. They apparently searched the entire home for valuables, while watching the woman closely.

When they were finished, they bound the woman and left her in a bathtub, without harming her, deputies said. Due to wind machine noise nearby, the woman was unable to hear a vehicle leave. She freed herself and called for help.

Lt. Dan Garcia said deputies at this time have no leads, but are investigating the incident.
