Woman murdered in Yakima

YAKIMA (Friday, 3-12-99)--A 41-year old Yakima woman--apparently a murder victim--was found at her home at 5:40 p.m. today, according to police.

 

Ruby K. Robles, was found in her home in the 100 block of East Pine St. She had received massive head injures from a blunt instrument, and police found the gas turned on in her apartment.

 

Police said the apartment manager had been summoned by residents who smelled gas coming from Robles' home. When the manager opened the door to check on the gas he found the victim.

 

Police believe the gas had been left on in an attempt to cause a fire that would destroy evidence of a homicide.

 

Yakima police detectives have interviewed a number of persons in this case and the investigation continues, according to Capt. Jeff Schneider.
