- Cause of
woman's death unknown
- CHINOOK PASS
(1-3-99)---An autopsy on the body of a woman found
dead here Jan. 1 hasn't revealed exactly how she
died, according to the Yakima County Sheriff's
Office.
-
- Janice Crabb, 51, was
found dead here in a hot tub in the 200 block of
Rainbow Rock Lane.
-
- Forensic testing today
revealed she had a high blood alcohol level. Her
cause of death was listed as "probable freshwater
drowning" but the "manner of death is
undetermined," according to
officials.
-
- Deputies said other
nonfatal injuries were present, so the pathologist
couldn't say for sure the cause of death was
drowning.
-
- None of the other
noted injuries would have been fatal in themselves,
and may have been from accidents that occurred
before death, officials said.
-
- The Sheriff's office
will request a second opinion as the YSO continues
the investigation.
-
- Mrs. Crabb's
companion, who discovered her body in the home's
hot tub, has cooperated with investigators and is
not in custody, deputies said today. A timeline for
further investigation was not made available by the
YSO.
