- Benton City man stabbed in fight
- BENTON CITY (Thursday, 10-22-98)--Deputies are investigating the stabbing of a Benton City man after four persons reportedly were involved in a fight at 10th and Della Sts. around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
- Wounded in the melee was Timothy Powell, 29, of 4102 Barker St.
- Powell reportedly received stab wounds in the back. He was treated and released from Kadlec Hospital.
- Deputies are looking for the Benton City man suspected in the stabbing.
- Kennewick man shot, killed
- KENNEWICK (Saturday, 10-20-98)--Law enforcement officials are investigating the murder of a Pasco man who was shot and killed by an unknown gunman at 7:45 p.m. today.
- Killed was Derrick Von Hill, of 921 W. Nixon, Pasco. He was killed outside 917 E. 27th, Kennewick, deputies said.
- Hill--and a small child believed to be with him--were transported to Kennewick General Hospital. Hill was pronounced dead there. The child was found to be uninjured. No further information about the child was immediately available.
- Deputies are looking at one "person of interest", but no motive has yet been established.
- Undersheriff Bill Morey said more information will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
