- School Board to mull new hires
- SUNNYSIDE (Wednesday, 8-26-98)--The Sunnyside School Board will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Lincoln Elementary School to discuss hiring new staff.
- New staffers up for hire include:
- Jason Bare, SHS math teacher
- Samuel Ramirez, SHS asst. volleyball coach
- Suzi Carpino, SHS para-educator
- David Palomarez, SHS ESL para-educator
- Marcia Jansen, SHS in-house suspension para-educator
- Yvonne Robinson, SHS sophomore class advisor
- Jason Bare, SHS asst.volleyball coach
- Jennifer Golden, Harrison asst. 8th grade volleyball coach
- Mark Johnson, SHS marketing teacher
- Misty Harvey district speech/language pathologist
- David Beals, SHS science teacher
- Anita Briones, Pioneer Elem. clerical aide/computer lab
- Bonita Slavens, custodian
- Deanna VanWingerden, Chief Kamiakin para-educator

- In other Business, the Board will:
- Discuss leaves of absences for Kathy Jollif, SHS para-educator; and Lori Schilperoort, Chief Kamiakin para-educator.
- Hear second reading on series 5000 personnel policies
- Approve interagency agrements with Merit Resources, Yakima Valley OIC, Yakima Skills Center
- Approve an intergovernmental cooperative purchasing agreement. This saves the district money, sometimes at the expense of businesses which pay taxes to support the district.
- Set the next Board meeting for Sept. 24.
- Hear reports and enter executive session to hear discuss personnel.
- Discuss rejecting a bid for a portable classroom.
