Passerby foils Lincoln Ave. burglar
 
SUNNYSIDE (3-20-98 )--A motorist driving by foiled an E. Lincoln Ave. burglar at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday according to detective Jose Trevino.
 
Alerted officers responded to the street's 1100 block and found the intruder had gained access into the home and tried to assault a victim inside.
 
The victim wasn't injured in the confrontation, police said.
 
Det. Trevino identified the suspect as a dark-skinned Hispanic male about 5'5" or 5'6" tall, and around 160-170 pounds.
 
The guy was seen driving a late model white Blazer or Bronco.
 
Trevino said police are following up on leads. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Det. Trevino at 836-6230.
 
Alleged pistol pointer packed to slammer
SUNNYSIDE (3-30-98) --Police say a man entered a Sunnyside residence Saturday and pointed a pistol at another person.
 
Arrested in connection with the incident was David Domingo Nanez, 18, of 1108 E. Decatur Ave. Arresting Officer Kent Coffman said the incident took place at 1501 E. Irving Ave. at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
 
The suspect reportedly entered the Sunnyside residence, produced a handgun, and aimed it at the victim, who wasn't identified.
 
The house was that of an unrelated party who wasn't at home, Coffman said.
 
The incident reportedly stemmed from the break up of a relationship.
 
Coffman said police placed the handgun in evidence and booked the suspect into the Law & Justice Center for felony assault with a firearm.
