Accidents kill 2

SUNNYSIDE-- Jesse Chavez Jr., 24, died Feb. 13 when the '87 Blazer he was riding in left Alexander Extension Rd. three miles north of Grandview, rolled, and struck a fence.

Chavez reportedly was thrown clear and died at the scene from massive head and internal injuries. He was riding with Alan J. Lamb, 32, of Grandview. Mr. Chavez is the son of Jesse and Lydia Chavez. He graduated from Sunnyside High in 1991, was a three-year Navy veteran, and member of the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church.

SUNNYSIDE--Stephanie Deleon, 14, was killed Feb. 11 when the '84 Toyota she was riding in rolled on Lester Rd., about two miles northwest of Sunnyside.

The Sunnyside High freshman reportedly died at the scene of massive head injuries. She and friends had just visited a sick friend during their lunch break. Miss Deleon is the daughter of Juan and Janie Aguilar, of Sunnyside. She was riding with James Matt, 15, and Jennifer Heitstuman, 16, both Sunnyside High students.
